Brač & Zlatni Rat Boat Trips from Trogir & Split

Croatia's most photographed beach, and the quiet north-coast harbours

Overview

Brač is the largest island in central Dalmatia, and Zlatni Rat — the golden cape at Bol on its south coast — is the beach that appears on every poster of Croatia. It is a shingle spit that physically shifts its tip with the wind and current, backed by pines and looking straight across to Hvar. The north coast, closer to the mainland, is a different island: quiet harbours, olive terraces and no crowds at all.

Where is Brač?

Brač lies directly south of Split, between Šolta and Hvar. Supetar and Milna on the north and west coasts are 45 to 55 minutes from Trogir by fast boat; Bol and Zlatni Rat are on the far south side, around 75 minutes, because you round the island to reach them.

Zlatni Rat

The cape juts several hundred metres into the channel and changes shape through the season as the maestral pushes the shingle. It is busiest in July and August around midday; arriving by boat lets you swim off the tip rather than fight for a spot on the pebbles.

Bol and the north coast

Bol itself is a working town with a stone waterfront and a Dominican monastery on the point. Supetar and Milna, on the other side of the island, are far quieter and easier to reach — good if you want Brač without the beach traffic.

Good to know

Brač & Bol — frequently asked questions

Where is Zlatni Rat beach?
At Bol, on the south coast of the island of Brač, facing the channel towards Hvar. From Trogir it is around 75 minutes by speedboat, because you round the island to reach the south side.
Why does Zlatni Rat change shape?
It is a shingle spit, not solid land. The prevailing wind and current move the material at its tip, so the cape visibly shifts direction through the season.
How do you get to Brač from Trogir or Split?
By boat. Supetar and Milna on the north and west coasts are 45–55 minutes from Trogir; Bol is about 75 minutes. SeaExplore runs both private charters and direct taxi-boat transfers.
Is Zlatni Rat crowded?
In July and August, yes — especially at midday. Arriving by boat means you can swim off the tip and avoid the walk and the crowded pebbles entirely.
Which SeaExplore trip goes to Brač?
Brač is a custom private charter destination, and a scheduled taxi-boat transfer route to Supetar, Milna and Bol. Tell us which side of the island you want and we plan the day around it.
